10 Boba Shops to Check Out This Summer

As the summer heat continues to climb, one way to stay cool is with a delicious bubble tea drink. Bubble tea, a tea-based treat that originated in Taiwan, is typically served with fruit flavoring or milk and topped with tapioca pearls.

Read on for 10 bubble tea places in the 425 and South Sound areas to try out, in no particular order.

Located next to Redmond Downtown Park, Meetea’s menu features a variety of milk and fruit teas. We recommend trying its “Fresh Mango Lover Slush,” a refreshing drink perfect for a hot day.

With locations in Woodinville and Kirkland, Bobae has vibrant drinks in a wide range of flavors. Check out its “Creative Menu,” which features seasonal drinks that change with every month.

While Dont Yell At Me might be most associated with Seattle — it has two locations there — it also has an Eastside connection through a location in Kirkland's Village at Totem Lake. Try adding its honey boba pearls to any drink for a sweet, chewy topping.

Sharetea is hardly regional: it has 400 locations all over the world. Washington alone has more than 15 Sharetea stores. Find the store closest to you and check out its blended drinks for a sweet summer dessert.

CHICHA San Chen is one of the newer shops on the block, with only four locations in the United States. (One of them is in Bellevue.) After trying one of its drinks, you'll see why it's growing in popularity.

TRA Tea Bar, with multiple Washington locations (including one in Renton), features an extensive milk- and tea-based drink menu. For a fun gimmick, we recommend purchasing a drink in a robot bottle.

BobaLust has multiple locations in the South Sound — and for good reason. Its signature drinks feature unique flavors, such as a mango slush drink blended with chamoy and tajin spices. Be sure to add star-shaped mango jellies to any drink for a sweet addition.

Women and family-owned Jade Lounge has a fun and colorful menu with many different drinks to try. Check out its new “Summertime Feels” drink for a restorative summer drink.

Located in both Federal Way and Puyallup, Melody Boba House features extravagant “Bubble Waffle” desserts with a variety of toppings. Its fruity drinks are particularly delicious.
